Getting Started
Ready to start using the rig ? Great! Keep reading and you'll be taught all of the unique methods and tricks that are needed to use the rig to its fullest potential.
Appending the Rig
There are a few ways of appending the rig and I'll be listing a few in order of least to most difficult.
Using the Rig
It's finally time to start using the rig, this section will only cover the basics of the rig, if you're interested in learning more, try the rest of the tutorials.
If you just installed the rig and you're thinking "Huh, I don't see this panel everyone mentions" then you either need bring up the toolbox (N
by default) or you installed the rig incorrectly, if you think its the latter uninstall it and read the tutorial again. If the problem persists join the Discord and ask for help
The basic rig will work in the same way as any other rig except for the face panel. Those controls may look a bit intimidating at first but with some help you'll understand in no time.
Face Panel
Blink Controls: Move these up and down to open and close the eyes.
Mouth Corner Controls: Rotate these to open the corners of the mouth.
F Control: Pulls the bottom lip into an F shape.
Eyelid Bends: The center two are main controllers, moving the top one will move the top lops, and vice versa for the bottom controller. Scaling them will expand or contract the sides of the eyelids. Finally, the two controls on the very edges are used to adjust the overall emotion.
Mouth Controls: The center one is the normal mouth controller, move to open/close, scale to close or open the teeth, and rotate to smile or frown. The controls directly above and below control the curvature of the smile, scale them to use them.
Face Controls
Eye Controls: Moving the square controller will move the pupils, scaling will make them smaller, and rotating will make them cross eyed. The arrow control in the center can be moved up and down and is used to change the position of the entire eye.
Eyelid Controls: These controls are used to manually change the position of the eyelids
Mouth Controls: The main large one is used for the position, scale, and rotation of the mouth while the controllers inside are tweak bones.
Eyebrow Controls: If you move the square controller up the eyebrows will tilt upwards, tilting down will tilt them down, however, moving it left to right will rotate the eyebrows on a center axis giving a nice flow of motion. Scaling and rotating the controller can also control the bend of the eyebrows. You may notice two smaller arrows inside of the square controller, these are used to adjust the bend of the eyebrows. Finally, the rectangle in the center will just move up and down to control the height of the eyebrows.
