Update Manager

Making sure you're on the latest version is important, and with most other rigs you won't know unless you're constantly watching the creator's social media. Ice Cube however tries to remedy this by including a built-in updater with the addon.

If you want to check if you're running the latest version of Ice Cube head on over to Advanced > System > Update Manager and click the "Check for Updates" button. After a moment a popup will appear telling you the status of the rig. If there is an update available you'll want to click the button again which has now changed to "Install Update." After the update has finished installing restart Blender and you'll now be running the latest version of Ice Cube, you can verify this by checking for updates again.

Settings Manager

Under the Advanced > System > Update Manager tab you can find settings to help export your current layout of Ice Cube and reset settings.

The settings manager
Options
  • Use Clipboard? | Copies the settings to your clipboard instead of a file.

  • Exporting/Importing | Decides whether you are importing or exporting settings.

  • Export Loc | The file location of where you want the settings file to be exported to.

  • Filename | The name of the settings file you want to create.

  • Import File | The file location of the settings file you want to import from.

  • Update Default Rig | Updates the rig that is appended through the shift+a menu, useful for creating a custom base to work off of. (Such as necks, custom eyelashes, eyes, etc)

  • Reset Default Rig | Resets the default rig back to the vanilla Ice Cube install

  • Reset Settings | Resets all of the settings back to default.

  • FULL ICE CUBE RESET | Completely resets Ice Cube to factory settings, do NOT use unless you know what you are doing.

Once you have chosen your settings you can click the Export to File/Clipboard button or Import from File/Clipboard button to apply your changes

You can also reset Ice Cube's settings here. If you wish to do a soft reset where all of the settings get reset to default click Reset to Default, however, if you wish to do a COMPLETE reset, which will reset all settings, bone positions, customizations, and more, click the FULL ICE CUBE RESET button.

Backup Manager

If you want to create a backup of your Ice Cube installation then you can do so under Advanced > System > Backup Manager. You can enter a name in the name box or just click the + icon to add a backup with the default name Main, to refresh the list of backups click the Refresh button, to remove a backup click the - button, and to load a backup into your current install click the button with a download icon.

After loading a backup make sure to restart Blender.

Baking Manager

Here you can bake your rig which will remove all unused features, settings, meshes, etc. This will make your rig perform much better and be animation ready.

Options
  • Bake Eye Textures? | This decides whether the Eye Node will be removed and baked into an image.

  • Split Eye Bakes? | Decides whether to create two images or not, one for each eye. Used if you have multi-colored eyes

  • Bake Unused Features? | This will completely remove all unused features rendering the rig un-customizable, this action is extremely destructive but useful for getting extra performance

Once you setup your settings, click the Bake Rig button.
