The Skin

PreviousMaking a PresetNextExtruding

Last updated 1 year ago

Before we can even think about extruding we have to first take care of the skin, this is a crucial part of any preset and you basically can't go without changing it. There are a few methods of doing this and I will list the ones that I feel are useful down below.

Before starting however, make sure you have the file saved somewhere, don't use the base .blend as you might accidentally overwrite it. I recommend opening a blank blender file, , and then saving it somewhere.

Method 1 one will use the built in skin manager. To begin click on the rig and open the UI N (By Default and go to Materials > Skin Make sure that the current file is unpacked or else it might not work, to do that click the . (Packed ) (Unpacked ) If you don't have the skin with you just input the username and , if you do however have the skin and you don't want to use the downloader or you have a specific skin click the and select your skin.

Method 2 will use the Ice Cube Mesh. (NOTE: Using this method will not automatically change the arm model) Begin by clicking the Ice Cube object floating above the head and going to material properties. Next open up the skin texture if it isn't already. After that, click the little X at the end of the image texture, click open, and chose your skin file.

Method 3 will use the UV editor. (NOTE: Using this method will not automatically change the arm model) To get started go to UV Editing located at the top of your screen. Unpack all files in the scene by going to File > External Data > Automatically Pack Textures and then File > External Data > Unpack Resources. Next in the UV editor go to Image > Replace and chose your new skin file.
